A lot of times your curls will misbehave overnight despite your bonnet or pineapple bun. Even when you try to refresh them on your second or third day with a water-conditioner cocktail, it doesn’t give you your desired results. If this is the case, I would like to show you another heatless method to easily revive second-day, or even third-day, curls. This method works for any hair type, and any length. Achieving great second day curls doesn’t have to be difficult.
What you’ll need:
Styling product
Bobby pins
Directions:
This revival method helps reduce the amount of they have while achieving more volume. This is how to do it:
1. Grab a small hair strand
You want to grab a little hair strand and keep the size consistent so your curls can look uniformed in the end.
2. Use a little bit of your styler (a drop!)
I use Coily Custard by Miss Jessie’s because it gives me a gel cast when it dries which is great for keeping curls intact.
3. Evenly spread the styler along the section of hair you’ve selected
Make sure your curls are saturated with gel, from your roots to ends.
4. Start Twisting it around your finger until your finger reaches your scalp
You are basically wrapping your finger around the hair strand to create a coil. This will train the curl.
5. Pin it
Remove your finger and use a bobby pin to pin the curl
6. Repeat
Continue to do this with the remaining strands that appear frizzy or lost their curl pattern. You don’t have to twirl and pin all of your hair. I recommend focusing on the top layer of your hair near your part because that section tends to get the most frizzy.
7. Leave your bobby pins in for about 2-3 minutes before taking them out
8. Gently stretch each section
You can do this by running your fingers from your scalp to the ends depending on how loose you want your curls.
9. Volume Volume Volume!
Finish off your look by scrunching your curls if you like more volume
And just like that you have refreshed beautiful curls!
