After years of switching up products and tugging on my hair, I finally found the perfect curly concoction. People spend months even years (me) trying to figure out what products work best. So don't feel discouraged if you haven'y reached that point in your curly journey. Like I mentioned in previous blogs, your curly hair journey is a trial and error experience. Just stick to it and you'll be well on your way.

To start off my routine, I like to play music on my speaker. Washing and untangling my hair can take quite some time so I like to play music to pass the time. I start my routine with Pattern Beauty Shampoo to clean my hair of any excess products and dirt. This is a gentle cleanser that cleans my hair well and leaves it soft and ready for conditioner. I like to call it my pre-conditioner because of how moisturizing it is. I then follow up with the Pattern Beauty Conditioner to give my hair the moisture its been waiting for. Having 3C curls, it is important that you find a conditioner that not only gives you the right amount of moisture but leaves your hair easy to detangle. 3C curls are more prone to tangles and knots so thank me later!

I like to detangle my hair with the Denman brush because it has soft bristles with no balls at the top so my hair won't get caught in it. When I'm done detangling (5 years later) I rinse my hair thoroughly and get ready to put my styling products in. I section my hair off so I can distribute the products evenly to make sure my whole head is covered. I start by applying Pattern Beauty Leave-in conditioner onto each section. I then apply Ouidad Curl Quencher Curl Cream onto each section which acts as an intense moisturizer. Lastly, I apply Curl Quencher Styling Gel to seal the moisture in my hair for a long lasting hold. A lot of people ask me if I diffuse my hair and the answer is no. I like to air dry because the diffuser makes my hair frizz up easily so the safer bet is air drying.

After an hour and a half of washing, untangling, and styling, I scrunch my hair in an upward motion to make my curls form faster. I then leave them to air dry. Try not to touch your hair when it's drying because it can result in frizz.

All of the products I used are available at Ulta Beauty! What's your curly hair routine? Leave yours in the comments below!
